Continuing Profesional Development (CPD)

CPD is the acronym for Continuing Professional Development , the term is used to decribe learning which can take many different forms, from lectures to practical assessment and is used by many indrustries to enhance the abilites of the people working in it.

CPD enables learning to become conscious and proactive, rather than passive and reactive, it is a commitment of professionals within the sectors to enhance skills, proficiency & knowledge through there working life.

CPD combines many different areas of learning, such as training days, events, e-learning and best practice, all focused for the individual to improve and so enable there skills to develop within the industry sectors.

CPD is used across many sectors and industries, with growth in all of these areas the need to help employees further develop there abilites and skills is important for the future of each sector.

Having the CPD strcuture of further learning in place giving a practical approach to learning helps employers keep staff up to date with the newest practices and skills.
